Meetings
Overview
Club meetings are held on the second Saturday of even months. In September, a general member ship meeting is held at the Gala and the December meeting is our annual holiday dinner where we play dirty bingo for a great piece of glass and enjoy each other’s company.
Typical Meeting Flow
The meeting generally follows Robert’s Rules of Order. The President presides over each meeting and the Vice President will fill in the Presidents’ absence. The typical meeting order is:
- Minutes of the last meeting and the treasurers report are read and approved.
- A review of old business is considered for additional information, research, or project completion.
- New business is considered and any member in attendance is welcome to bring up ideas or issues during this time.
- Glass education program. This may be a member that brings a particular type of glass to share. That member will educate the group about their knowledge of the show and the group is also welcomed to share what they know or what they would like to know. An open exchange is often had with improved knowledge generally the outcome.
- Refreshment break. Members take turns in providing cold appetizers and/or desserts. The club provides refreshments.
- Show and tell segment. Members will bring their latest finds from the marketplace. Sometimes glass is presented that was made by other American or international companies. This always proves to be fun and educational.
